A filmmaker that embraced photography, Bram Schilling is an advertising photographer that started his career at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam with a Bachelor of Arts degree in film. Today, he brings his skillsets from both photography and filmmaking to advertising campaigns that raise social issues to ensure people’s voices are heard.  Bram’s photographic style is genuine with a cinematic look. In his portraiture it is not just the person that matters but also context and environment. His background in post-production and work as a commercial studio photographer in fashion has made him a versatile and technically-oriented photographer, values highly praised by clients in both commercial and documentary work.

Photography for Bram is not just about working and interacting with his subjects, but also about capturing and bringing across the fate of people represented in his work. Nothing exemplifies this more than his passion projects that express the intimate and the exotic, his favourite being his documentary work in Sri Lanka. With a nostalgic love for the analog, he uses this medium in specific projects wherever and whenever the opportunity reveals itself.
